Clinic management software for private practitioners, simple enough to run yourself

Avinya Plus is all-in-one clinic management software for private practitioners that keeps patient records, appointments, and billing in one app. Reception, the doctor, and billing each see only their own screen via role-based permissions, and the sidebar hides what a role can't touch. A walk-in bills at a quick counter that defaults to 'Walk-in Customer', then prints an A4 invoice or an 80mm thermal receipt. In early access.

You're the doctor, the receptionist, and the IT department

Run a solo practice and you're juggling a paper register for patients, a diary for appointments, and an Excel sheet your CA dreads at filing time. Switch tools and nothing talks to each other; the same patient gets typed three times. Most 'clinic software' assumes you have a front-office team and an admin to set it up. You don't. You need one app where a walk-in goes from register to bill to receipt in a couple of minutes, where your receptionist only sees the front desk, and where setup doesn't need a consultant. If your staff can use WhatsApp, they should be able to use this.

Built for how clinics actually work.

One record runs the whole day, with nothing re-typed

Register a patient once and everything hangs off that record. Book an appointment from the patient, then choose Create Invoice on it and the billing counter opens with the patient and the linked visit already attached. When the bill is saved, the invoice stamps a source on itself (consultation, appointment, or patient) so it's permanently tied to that visit. No copy-pasting a name, no guessing which appointment a payment was for.

Reception, doctor, and billing each see only their own screen

Every new clinic is seeded with Doctor, Front Desk, and Nurse roles, each permissioned (you're the Administrator). Front Desk gets patients, appointments, and billing, but explicitly not clinical notes or prescriptions. Doctor gets the full clinical record. The sidebar literally hides any nav item a role lacks permission for, so your receptionist never lands on a screen they shouldn't, and nobody has to be trained to 'avoid' the parts that aren't theirs. No shared logins.

A walk-in counter where the bill (and the tax) do themselves

Walk-ins don't need a full invoice form. The sell counter shows a searchable, paginated list of your services with category filter chips; tap a row to add it to the cart, adjust the quantity, pick Cash, Card, UPI, or Other, then Save as Draft or Complete & Pay. The customer defaults to 'Walk-in Customer', so you can bill someone who isn't even a registered patient. Each line carries its service's tax rate, and once your clinic has a GSTIN the tax splits into CGST + SGST or IGST automatically.

Print on whatever printer you already own

Have a normal printer? Print the full A4 tax invoice. Have a little thermal printer at the counter? Print an 80mm receipt (a 58mm template is available too). Both render from the exact same invoice record, so the counter receipt and the tax invoice can never disagree on the total. You don't buy special hardware to start; you print on what's already on your desk.

Opinionated defaults so setup is an afternoon, not a project

The day you create your clinic it's already usable: staff roles seeded, five appointment types ready out of the box, a 30-minute default appointment length (with a 5-minute floor), and an auto-generated patient ID on every new record so you never invent a numbering scheme. Register a patient whose phone is already on file and the form surfaces a match panel so you link to the existing record instead of creating a duplicate. You configure, you don't build.

A browser app today, a second branch tomorrow

No box to install, no machine to maintain, no per-PC license. Open it on the clinic desktop, your laptop at home, or your phone between patients: same clinic, same data, with a full mobile billing flow on small screens. And because each clinic is its own isolated tenant under one account, the day you open a second branch it's just another clinic you switch into from the sidebar, with no new login and no new server.

At a glance

  • Every new clinic is seeded with staff roles (Doctor, Front Desk, Nurse; you're the Administrator) and five ready-made appointment types, with no setup project.
  • Role-based screens: Front Desk gets patients, appointments, and billing but no medical records or prescriptions, and the sidebar hides any nav item a role lacks permission for.
  • The walk-in sell counter defaults the customer to 'Walk-in Customer', supports Cash, Card, UPI, and Other, and lets you Save as Draft or Complete & Pay, with no patient record required.
  • Each invoice line carries its service's tax rate; once the clinic has a GSTIN the tax auto-splits into CGST+SGST (same state) or IGST (other state).
  • The same invoice record prints as an A4 tax invoice or an 80mm thermal receipt (a 58mm template is available), so the counter receipt and the tax invoice always match.
  • Browser app with no install and no server; one account covers multiple isolated branches you switch between from the sidebar without logging out.

Questions, answered.

Is this too much software for a one-doctor clinic?

No. It ships ready to use: staff roles, five appointment types, a 30-minute default appointment length, and auto patient IDs are all pre-configured the moment you create your clinic. You add a couple of services and start billing. There's nothing to install and no server to run; it's a browser app, so the same login works on your clinic desktop, your laptop, and your phone.

Can my receptionist use it without seeing patients' clinical notes?

Yes. The built-in Front Desk role gets patients, appointments, and billing, but not medical records or prescriptions, and the sidebar hides any nav item that role can't access. So reception works the front desk, the doctor works the clinical record, and nobody has to be trained to avoid screens that aren't theirs. No shared passwords.

How fast is billing a walk-in?

Search your services, tap a row to add it, set the quantity, pick Cash, Card, UPI, or Other, and hit Complete & Pay. The customer defaults to 'Walk-in Customer', so you can bill someone who isn't even a registered patient. Each line carries its service's tax rate, and you print an A4 invoice or an 80mm thermal receipt off the same bill.

Do I need to know GST to use it?

No. When your clinic has a GSTIN, the bill auto-splits tax into CGST + SGST for same-state patients and a single IGST line for out-of-state ones, straight from each service's tax rate. (The full GST tax-invoice rules, HSN/SAC validation, and invoice numbering are covered on the GST billing page.)

Will it handle a second branch later?

Yes. Each clinic is its own isolated tenant, and you switch between branches from the sidebar in one login, no logging out. All your branches, one account, and because it's a browser app, opening a second location doesn't mean a second install or a second server.

Is Avinya Plus built only for one medical specialty?

No. It's a generic, configurable platform that supports 40+ specialties with editable templates. IVF just happened to be the first clinic on it, not the focus. It's India-first today with GST billing, the architecture is built to go global, and it's in early access.

Run your clinic on Avinya Plus.

Patient records, billing, and scheduling in one system your team will actually use.
